penv(1) currently filters out entries that don't match KEY=VALUE. illumos prints all entries verbatim, which is more useful for debugging corrupted environments. On the other hand, processes on Linux like sshd(1) clear their environment and look strange without filtering. Not sure what would be the best default here.
