network@cinnamon.org applet missing "More" on VPN Connections in LM 22.3 & LMDE 7

The Cinnamon network@cinnamon.org applet does not have "More" list expansion when there are more than 5 stored VPN Connections. So the full list of stored VPN Connections is shown.

There is also no scrollbar on the shown full list. And if there are numerous stored VPN Connections (I usually have from 18-36 stored VPN connections) the long list pushes the applet's top above the screen. So Wired (possibly some Wireless) is pushed out-of-view above the screen viewing area, rather than stopping at top and bringing up a scrollbar.

Steps to reproduce

Need more than 5 listed VPN Connections to trigger "More", and I saw the same issue on each of several computers when I upgraded from LM 22.2 to 22.3 and when LMDE went to Cinnamon 6.6.4.

I rolled back all except one each with LM 22.3 and LMDE 7 (with Cinnamon 6.6.7 now) to monitor the issue.

Expected behavior

Return of "More" VPN Connection list expansion when there are more than 5 saved VPN Connections, with scrollbar when list is long enough to push top of applet to top off viewable screen. This has always worked for me over several Linux Mint versions on the same computers, until now.

The "More" function seems to work fine on Wireless Connections when more than 5 are seen, as it had in the past.

Additional information

To get around this, I'm using the Cinnamon 6.4.13 network@cinnamon.org applet under ~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets, but the "More" triangles (>, v) can be a little flaky in their orientation. I'd rather use the current package version with XSI icons.

I have the same issue on my end. LMDE 7, Cinnamon 6.6.7. The problem appeared after the latest cinnamon upgrade (about 3 weeks ago). I have a long list of VPN connections that take all the height of my screen, and I cannot scroll with the mouse as I used to do to see the top of the list (including the on/off switches to toggle wifi and ethernet). I found that I can still access the unseen part of the list by moving with the Up and Down keyboard keys, but it is very annoying as I can't see what item is selected.

Update: I managed to install the older version of the applet suggested by JFB-435 by downloading the cinnamon-common_6.4.13-2_all.deb (https://debian.pkgs.org/sid/debian-main-amd64/cinnamon-common_6.4.13-2_all.deb.html), extracting it, and copying the applet to ~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets. I had to restart Cinnamon (alt-F2 "r") in order to refresh the applets list.

I apologize if this is inappropriate. This is the first issue I've had with Linux Mint after several version upgrades, so I'm new here.

I copied the network@cinnamon.org applet directory-with-files from another of my computers still running LM 22.2.

The Cinnamon 6.4.13 version is also here:

For conveinience, I renamed the directory [my-id-]network@cinnamon.org under my ~/.local... path, and changed the metadata.json file lines for "uuid", "name", and "description" to reflect [my-id-]. That way, both the default network@cinnamon.org and [my-id-]network@cinnamon.org are in the Applets list and I can remove one and add the other as I see fit.

P.S. If many(>5) VPN or WiFi entries need to be displayed - I would prefer small search box in Network manager - for example between "VPN Connections" and toggle switch. So eventually it would be possible to scroll list by mouse or search by name. If less entries - no need to show search box.
