How to use API for notification counts in grouped window list?

Other DEs (e.g. GNOME, KDE, Plank dock) support showing number of notifications in their analog of "grouped window list". This doesn't seem to work in Mint.

I was told that such a feature exists and my previous discussion was closed abruptly https://github.com/orgs/linuxmint/discussions/1402#discussioncomment-15853680.

If this feature exists, how to use this API? I would like to implement it in my apps (also, Telegram's notification count does not seem to work in Mint).
