Feature Request: Keyboard layout in Login Window settings

Currently, changing the default keyboard layout for the login window is unnecessarily difficult.
A simple fix would be to add a dropdown menu in the login window's settings, letting you pick what it is.

There is already a keyboard layout dropdown at the top right corner of the login screen. Could you elaborate how your suggestion improve the current situation?

Speaking of improvement, I think there will be significant improvement if the keyboard layout dropdown in the login screen is done in nested manner, grouped for each languages. The current list is too long to navigate.

sure!
the current dropdown menu doesn't let you change what's selected by default.
So if you change keyboard, you then have to select your keyboard every time you log back in.
