The study comprises data of an fMRI experiment that is suitable to identify the speech hemisphere of individual subjects (see Bethmann et al., Brain Research (2007), DOI: 10.1016/j.brainres.2006.11.057). In short, in the semantic decision condition, word pairs were presented visually and subjects had to indicate whether the two words have the same meaning. As control condition subjects had to judge wheteher two unpronounceable letter strings were identical. In total, nine blocks of each condition have been alternately presented, with a resting period of 24 seconds between each block. In each block, eight pairs of words or letter strings have been presented for 2.5 seconds each, with 0.5 seconds between each pair. The current data-set has been acquired at 2mm isotropic resolution and has been preprocessed with fMRIPrep 25.1.3 including standard head-motion correction and slice scan time correction using the first slice as reference (t=0) and transformation into standard MNI space (MNI152NLin2009cAsym). The study was conducted at the Combinatorial NeuroImaging (CNI) core facility of the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology (LIN) Magdeburg and was approved by the ethics committee of the University of Magdeburg, Germany. All participants gave written informed consent. Currently you will only find the preprocessed functional data because of the copyright policy of OpenNeuro (i.e. CC0). The original data incuding T1 and T2 weighted whole-brain anatomical MR and DTI data is available on request. Please contact brechmann@lin-magdeburg.de. Collaboration is highly welcome!
